Welcome back Emjoy Community!
At Emjoy we celebrate all people, and our community does too! We tested you on what you know about the LGBTQ+ community, and per usual, you didn’t disappoint! We’re so proud of everyone in our community and how much you already know, and we can’t wait to grow and learn as a community!
Whether you’re a part of the LGBTQ+ community or not, educating ourselves is important. The more we know about the queer community, the better we can support people in feeling safe in all spaces. If you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, you can always learn from other queer people about their experiences. So basically, celebrating pride is a win-win for all people!
We created this quiz to give you a perspective on common misconceptions of queerness and queer history. We’re now in a time where we have more visibility than ever before and at Emjoy we want to give you access to accurate information! So we won’t keep you waiting any longer, let’s check out these results!
We’re super glad that no one thought LGBTQI+ meant we were ordering a supersized BLT. A whopping 99% of the community guessed correctly, congrats! The acronym stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex Plus. You might hear a lot of different variations of this acronym, but it will always include the plus, because the community is continuing to expand!
This is a tricky question because for many years we’ve been told that they are the same thing. However, the Emjoy Community didn’t disappoint. Only 7% believe that they are the same thing, and only 5% believe that it’s basically the same. So what’s the real tea? Sex has to do with your anatomy, and it’s assigned to you at birth. Just because you have female anatomy, it doesn’t mean that you’re a girl, and the same goes for male anatomy. Gender is how you feel and how you identify, there aren’t only two sexes, and there aren’t only two genders. Wanna learn more? You can check out our trans inclusive collection in the Emjoy App!
Another tricky one. Look, sex is sex, there’s nothing gay or straight about it! A solid 88% of the community guessed correctly, while 10% believe that some sexual acts can be labled as “gay”, and 2% believe that anal is only for queer people. In the world we live in in, we’ve been given perceptions of sex that aren’t always accurate. The truth is, if you wanna peg your boyfriend, that doesn’t make you or him gay. So go on babe, buy that strap on!
As we grow and change, so does our sexuality. There’s some things about our personalities that have always been the same, and some things that evolve as we grow into ourselves. With that being said, 95% agree that you can explore your sexuality at any time in your life, with only 5% believe otherwise. Queerness hasn’t always been accepted, and even now in 2021 we are still fighting for queer rights around the world. It’s hard to explore our sexualities when we don’t always have the safest spaces to do so. The more work we do to normalize queerness, the more freedom people have to explore their sexualities at any age! Whether you come out at 14 or 47, your gender and sexuality is valid!
This question is connected to the one above. Of course, if you have the desire to explore, do it! And obviously the Emjoy community already knows this, because we always encourage you to what? Explore your pleasure and your body! So, no surprise here, 98% agree that it is healthy, with only 2% believe that it’s not healthy, or only healthy to a certain age. There is no age cut off, there is no time where you need to stick to one gender and one way of expressing yourself and your sexuality. As you continue your Emjoy Journey, we will always encourage you to learn new things about yourself.
It bears to be repeated, sex is sex, there’s nothing gay or straight about it. Anal sex, regardless of gender, is an amazing act to explore with yourself and your partners. To label any kind of pleasure as “gay” or “straight” can cut you off from a whole world of delicious sensations and toe curling orgasms. Of course 98% percent of you already know this! For the other 2%, check out our Anal Collection, and let us introduce you to the lovely world of anal sex.
The word queer hasn’t been around for very long, and it’s significance has changed quite a lot throughout it’s existence. What once was a slur is now reclaimed and used as an umbrella term for people in the LGBTQI+ community. If you feel queer, you are queer! Nowadays people use the term to inform others that they’re a part of the community without the need to specify. So babe, if you feel queer, you are queer! You don’t owe anyone an explanation. About 12% of the community thinks it’s just another word for gay, while 3% believe it’s still used as a slur, but 85% pf people answered correctly!
Not at all! But here’s the trick: LGBTQI+ people have been around for centuries, but we haven’t haven’t had the language until recently. Queerness has been evolving for centuries, and though we have record of this, we haven’t always used the same language. Of course, 94% of you already know this, with only 5% believing that it’s super new or relatively new. The difference is that, though the existence of the LGBTQI+ community has always been here, we haven't always had the advanced language that we have for it now.
Wow wow wow! We’re so proud of all the people on this app, if you got some answers wrong, no worries! Emjoy has plenty of sessions to help you learn more about queer theory, how to explore your sexuality, and lots of stories that celebrate LGBTQ+ relationships! We want to keep testing you on these kinds of topics so you get to see your progress, and also so that you know you’re not alone in your Emjoy Journey!
Stay tuned for the next quiz!
